Post-its from Smithfield

Fit, firm, fabulous men, looking for love in all the right places—welcome to Smithfield, Connecticut.

Four years ago I had a vision. Set a series of novels in a small Connecticut town, invite a few of the aforementioned fit, firm, fab men, plant a few seeds for budding relationships then layer seasonal elements specific to New England. I could revisit familiar locations story to story, and stumble across old friends book to book. I wanted to write about the kind of community many of us live in, and the regular people we know.

Readers liked them. A lot.

This month, I’m happily re-releasing my Men of Smithfield stories right here at Carina Press. And first up? Is Mark and Tony. A story about friendship, bible thumping, and second chances—with a little sloppy drunk sex thrown in to keep you all riveted. I’m very excited about my own second chance with these stories, but if you’re new to Smithfield–good news! Here’s a look at the town.
Green

If my career in writing ever fails, clearly I have a future in cartography.

Smithfield is comprised of a town Green, a bank, a library, the Village restaurant, a package store (or liquor store to those of you south of New England), the Lake, the Smithfield Woods, little white houses with black lacquered doors, a prep school…

and a church.

That’s supposed to be Mark’s Jeep out front but it looks a little like a dump truck.

Naturally, these being LB Gregg contemporary romances, Sex Happens. It happens a few times. Once it happens here:

Jeeps are hard to draw. And that “back door” reference in the above rendering is no foreshadowing of events that take place in Tony’s house. Uh. Not really.

Sex also happens here:

Pretend the ‘car’ is a Jeep. And you can read anything you like into that ‘back door’ comment. Heh.

I’m going to dazzle my web designer with these little doodles later. Then he can construct a new interactive map of Smithfield feature on my website. Stay tuned next month for more Post-its from Smithfield as MOS 2: Max and Finn hits the virtual bookstores on September 3rd!

L.B. Gregg writes m/m romantic comedies for fun and profit and is deliriously happy to have her Men of Smithfield books coming out bang, bang, bang, four in a row from Carina. You can find L.B. at her preferred social media, Facebook or follow her sporadic appearances on Twitter. Visit her website for more info.

How did I ever manage to edit the books without these? I LOVE them!

  2. Well, you do have to slightly redefine “Bible-thumping.”

I wanted to make a flip book, but my skills are lacking. :)
